Levulan PDT inactivates the bacteria that causes the acne, exfoliates the skin to unclog pores, and decreases the activity of overactive sebaceous glands in the skin. It is a two step process that combines a topical solution known as Levulan Kerastick (aminolevulinic acid HCl) with a light source to activate the product and destroy acne. Step one in the two step process is to apply the topical solution. It is highly absorbed by the abnormal cells and there is a waiting period of anywhere between 1-18 hours before step two takes place. In step two the skin is exposed to the light source which activates the Levulan solution. This process is what destroys the Acne. It improves moderate to severe cystic acne. Most patients require multiple treatments, which are preformed once every three weeks for optimal results. You may experience some slight swelling, redness and some peeling after the treatment.

TCA Cross

TCA Cross is meant more for deep acne scars. A high concentration of Trichlorocetic acid is placed inside the scar. The scar begins to resurface and stimulates collagen production. With multiple treatments the scar will eventually close in on itself.

Zeno Acne Clearing Device

The Zeno Acne Clearing Device is a hand-held electronic medical device that has been proven to make pimples disappear fast. It is one of the most advanced and effective devices available without a prescription. Zeno is for mild to moderate acne. It triggers what is called a heat shock response, which is when the bacteria has a reaction to the heat and it activates heat-shock proteins. Heat-shock proteins kill the bacteria by causing it to self-destruct. Pimples are caused from excess oil and flaking skin. It clogs the opening of the hair follicle and creates an environment that causes bacteria to grow and causes acne. With heat applied for a certain amount of time the bacteria dies and the pimple goes away. Zeno can clear up most pimples with just one treatment. Sometimes 2-3 treatments are necessary. Zeno begins clearing the pimple within a few hours.
